Chaos Lab XII
Twelfth edition, at Diamant d'Or (Strasbourg). Friday 31 July 2026, 9pm++, entry 3€++. This benefit night also marks the birth of the TOPLAP Strasbourg association, a collective dedicated to live coding and algorithmic music in the region. On the bill: Blut Wand (solo cold synth wave, vocals, analog synths and drum machines), Acier Diamant (teknorock built from drone, kick and punk), Crash Server (live coding by SVDK & ZBDM), Crispr (music driven by algorithms and a C++ compiler), 520STILL (p5.js and Hydra visuals, from Atari to retinal effects), Letherique (cosmic-dark atmospheres and disquasse sets until dawn), Sac à Dos (drone-tekno live machine, industrial drones and abrasive rhythms) and Ignace Orteil (quadraphonic computer music under SuperCollider).
- Acier Diamant
Teknorock: a mixture of drone, kick and punk, patiently simmered in acid.
- Blut Wand
Solo project of romantic cold synth wave, between death and rebirth. Vocals, analog synths and drum machines.
- Crash Server
Strasbourg live coding duo made up of SVDK & ZBDM. At the crossroads of noise, transhumanism and IDM. Organisers and central figures of the Chaos Lab scene.
FoxDotSuperCollider - 520STill
Making pixels dance to sine waves: 520STill (Sébastien Poilvert) started out creating on Atari, and today uses p5.js and Hydra to produce visuals that range from minimalist to psychedelic, always chasing retinal effects. Not recommended for people with epilepsy!
p5.jsHydra - Letherique
A specialist in manipulating cosmic-dark atmospheres and a relentless hunter of sonic UFOs of every kind, Letherique comes to stir things up with disquasse sets until dawn.
- Sac à Dos
Drone-tekno live machine. Thick sonic drone, industrial machinery and abrasive rhythms.
- Ignace Orteil
Homemade computer music in quadraphonic orbit. Juicy SuperCollider verses invoking inter-species entities through drones, stones and thoroughly synthetic guttural groans.
SuperCollider - Crispr
Armed with mathematics, algorithms and a C++ compiler, Crispr projects universes powered by music. A keen analyst of sound frequencies, the compiler fades away to leave only a fluid, personal, audio-reactive work of art.
